I don't like global warming.

31 July 2008

I can SMELL the heat in the air, I tell you.

But anyway, I think I'm on a movie spree! After watching The Dark Knight and Wall-E I just realized how much I love movies... Haha! And just yesterday Kok Jen gave me his pen drive which contained...

"There is no price for attractiveness. Or awesomeness"

With all due apologies for supporting piracy. It's the Malaysian way.

And so I came up with this list for myself. 23 movies to watch before 2008 is over. Shaddap, I know I'm having SPM. And I even came up with my own rating system! I shall attempt to go professional and rate every movie I watch on a scale of 10, the scores being...

1- I'll muder that director.
2- Don't even talk to me about it.
3- Waste of my time.
4- I wish I watched another movie...
5- Ok-okay laa.
6- Cool, but I won't watch it a second time.
7- Reccomendable.
8- You have got to be kidding me if you don't watch it.
9- I'll force you to watch it.
10- I'll kill you if you don't watch it.

Ratings 1 and 10 are pretty extreme, but that's the only way I can make sure there's always room for bigger, better stuff =P So since I've watched 3 movies so far, here's how much I'll rate them.

Kung Fu Panda : 7/10
Wall-E : 7/10
The Dark Knight : 9/10

Dark Knight rocks more than you do!

29 July 2008

Just in case you were wondering what am I doing awake at 2am local time...

=)

Two hours later

27 July 2008

Guess where was I two hours ago?

Think.

Think again.

Now honestly I wasn't exactly all thrilled about Daughtry being in KL, but in the middle of the youth service Elder Sis suddenly texted me.

"Hey wanna go 4 daughtry's concert tonite?I hv 2 tix sommore. I'm leaving d
hse latest 6.30"

First an IMAX movie for Rm6, now a free concert pass! I was all thrilled in the car when Elder Sis just had to pop my bubble by saying...

"Oh by the way Joseph, we're getting the VIP seats. Not you."

-_-

Before you start cursing me and everything for getting free tickets in the first place, first let me tell you how I would rate the concert on a scale of 10.

2/10. Utter failure.

The tickets proudly boasted CONCERT FROM 7.00pm until MIDNIGHT!

Chris Daughtry did not appear until nearly 11.30pm. Which by that time my legs were aching, I was hungry, the rain was giving me a headache, the cigarette smoke was driving me mad, and the humidity did not merge well with the B.O. of the people crammed around me like sardines.

I was nearly driven to tears by the performances that preceeded Daughtry himself. I ended up being so worn out I went away to get myself a proper seat and watched Daughtry from the LCD screen.

Marcus (ticket supplier) Went home loving Daughtry because he caught Daughtry's autographed guitar pick.

I came home with a headache and two sore legs.

Oh oh, speaking of sore legs, I do have one very dramatic story to tell. But I'll leave that for next time =P

Will only support Planetshakers' concert from now on,
Jo

Why So Serious?

24 July 2008

Boy oh boy.

Simply, absolutely, definitely, positively AMAZING movie =) Haven't watched something this good in quite a while already... Lol!

Watched it with the SE Cabinet just last Sunday, and oh boy that was one Rm6 well spent xP Where else can you watch a movie like this on one of the world's largest screens at that price? And don't say I've never told you that membership has its privileges =P

Well on another topic,
I shared in CF for the second time today after a long long break from my 5-minutes messages! Haha it felt strangely good to be back sharing the word of God xP And one interesting thing that happened when I was preparing the message for today... God just told me to tell them to try and assess my personality based on their observations.

Just a bit of background: I first took the personality test back in 2005, where my result was Phlegmatic-Sanguine. I retook the test a few months back, and I got Phlegmatic-Choleric. And just yesterday when I re-retook it, I got a Phlegmatic-Melancholy.

So it does quite obviously show my domineering personality =P

But when I asked them... they said stuff like Sanguine, Melancholy and even one of them said I was a Choleric! Haha but at the end of the day, it does show that I really can do ALL THINGS through Christ who strengthens me =) I can be the fun guy, the person taking charge, or the perfectionist when I choose to be. Who ever said that the sky should be the limit? xP

Well that aside, Shi made quite an interesting statement just earlier. She was saying something like, "You seem very happy lately... just this much away from being hyperactive. Did anyone do something extra good for you lately?"

I just can't help it! Lol! It's called joy xP and the CF people probably can quote this by heart by now... Joy comes from knowing something other people don't, and is not based on circumstances.

So who wants to take a guess at what do I know that you don't? =P

Feelings pretty and witty and bright,
Jo

First?

13 July 2008

I'm so sorry to all you xanga users out there who are still passionately devoted to xanga blogs, but life goes on, see.

So let me set a few standards here before I start on anything (This is not a real post).
1. I will not start numbering my posts eg. post number 1, post number 2 etc etc etc
2. I will not post emo-fying stuff here. Stone me if I do.
3. I will not harass, publically demoralize or insult anyone using this blog.
4. I will, even at the risk of sounding cheezy, post every single thing worth acknowledging and shouting about by my standards.
5. I will not attempt to kill all your eyes by posting up endless photos of myself. Let's just say that the camera and I don't agree with each other half the time.

Now that that's all dealt with, let us move on to some happier stuff.

Song lead for the (I've lost count)-th time in MKC todady, and oh boy I was actually having some weird mixture of gases in my stomach at that time =S I KNEW it was the curry last night. Pffpth. But halfway through the worship the Holy Spirit just prompted me to make a statement which more or less went like this.

"If you are going to be disturbing each other, making noises and stuff like that, feel free - but know that God is here right now, and whatever you do, he is watching. What are you doing, knowing that God is watching you right now?"

And it works like magic wei! Almost immediately the kids all sat down and started concentrating (Well, almost all of them who at least have brains to think) and after that the teacher was like saying "Wow Joseph, you're improving week after week!"

Haha! Praise God that everything worked out even though we only had like 20 minutes to practice =P

Oh oh, and I've figured out a genius way to end my posts this time.
