Just recently I signed up for this fascinating... thing on the web. Didn't thought much about it, until I read this article by a Sri Lankan writer.

A BIZARRE NEW new habit called Twittering has taken the world's idle rich by storm.

You use your phone or computer to send out a constant stream of short news alerts (called "tweets"), so people know exactly what you are doing at all times of the day or night.

The word "Twitter" is derived from "twit", meaning "moron", and describes the users targeted by the service. (The original name was Pathetic Egomaniacs Anonymous.)

It's another one of those days.

You place the golf ball on the tee, take a swing, hit the ball, and you suddenly realize that you sent the ball going off in the wrong direction.

It sails out of bounds, ricochets off a car's door, rolls down the hill and off a ramp and it lands on top of a steam vent where it is blown into the skies when the vapor comes out at full force, and it comes right back down, plopping straight into the hole.

Please smile at our two lovely administrators who could pass as Judy Garland's aunts as you walk by them; remember to be nice to them when asking for a raise, but since you are only a temporary worker, head left again into the PA department.

Okay, I have gotta admit that it is cool that I am working in a branch of a multibillion dollar, international direct sales corporation. Still, it would be much cooler if I was not part of the 6% minority of the male workers there.

Ratio of female to male workers: 10 to 1. Well I suppose it would be every bachelor's dream come true in any workplace, but it would have done me much good if they were all not more than twice my age.

But the lovely part is this: on the first day of work itself, I got my own office! It turns out that the former manager moved out, so they had no place to put me but in there; where I have 3 whole shelves full of magazines since god-knows-when; possibly the entire archive of company records some three metres to my left; a neat little hp laptop to work on while the rest of them are stuck with run-down PCs that are still running on Windows XP; my own little box of stationery and various edible goodies in one corner of the room that is currently being colonized by the ants.

The thing is that this place also doubles as a storeroom for the PA department, so beyond where I sit, there are boxes of various goodies, and stashed somewhere in one of the cupboards is a genuine green jersey signed by Ronaldinho himself together with a gold wristwatch.

It does not get any better than this. Now if only they gave me some wi-fi in this place, my life would be complete =D

Well the look aside, Juwita Suwito has always been THE local artist for me. Ever since seeing her performing in HUGE Camp way back in 2004, I have tried downloading a few tracks that she sung (I only managed to download one in the end), and I thought that she was pretty good!

So after saving up an amount of cash, I bought her first album - titled Brand New World in 2005 for Rm28. If you knew me then, I would've rather skinned myself than to spend that kind of money on anything, but I bought it, and I was definitely not disappointed with her amazing vocal performance on that CD.

Well, after a period of being on hiatus(?), I finally saw her again, this time right at my doorstep - in HSG's International Music Night. There, she sang her awesome power-packed rendition of Rihanna's Umbrella, which I am still desperately trying to find it on youtube, imeem - everywhere! up until now.

And who would have guessed that four months down the road, I will be seeing her again, at the same place?



This December 19th, Juwita Suwito is in the house, performing live at HSG KL! With tickets priced dirt cheap at Rm8 - Rm15, you have GOT to be kidding me if you say you would rather be doing something else.



And of course, the other notable artist who will be in the same place, performing alongside Juwita is our homegrown R&B artist, Liang.

It's a little tricky to find his name if you google it up, because of many other well-known figures like Guang Liang or even Zhuge Liang. But from what I have heard, he is one of Malaysia's more prominent artists.



Liang has won the AIM award, which is the highest honors in music as far as Malaysia is concerned. Well, if he can win that, he has to be something, right?

I personally am not such a big fan of R&B music, but you can still check out his music video, and you decide for yourself.

Me & McDonalds

Fine, so I'm too lazy to cook my own dinner.

I was just calling McDonalds' delivery service earlier, and they put me on the usual annoying waiting tone. And it was interesting because the conversation went something like this.

Pre-recorded voice: Please be notified that your call will be used for training and monitoring purposes as we continue to serve you better. Please hold while we place your call in queue.

*annoying music plays*

And FINALLY! someone picked up my call! You have got to love McDonalds for that. The best part about the whole event was that after I placed my order and put down the phone, I suddenly received a call on my handphone only a few minutes later.

Nah, a long post

This is how I spent my day yesterday.

Woke up, went out for breakfast, came back, did add maths, played some games, ate dinner, did more maths, played some more games, download lotsa songs, ate some more, sleep.

Man, I love holidays.

Raindrops keep falling on my head

2 hours ago.

I was buying food from this mamak near Saujana, and the rest of the CF people were chatting away around the table while waiting for my food to arrive.

And so I noted.

"Err... you notice that the sky is turning very dark, very quickly?"

Ah, that got their brains working. So they all ditched me and ran off in the direction of Isaac's house. I got my food, turned back to get a plastic fork, stepped out on to the road-

And the heavens opened. In a non-spiritual way.

Cut the drama, we all made it into Isaac's place, soaked and everything, and after we have eaten and had a change of clothes...

THE SKY CLEARED UP!

Not only the rain stopped, the sun started shining all so brightly as though nothing happened. We got caught in a friggin' 10 minutes-long maddening downpour, got soaked to our bones, and the sky clears up!

Whoever said God does not have a sense of humour, they were wrong.

I had this brilliant idea of wishing all the PMR people out there good luck in their exams but what the heck, they're not gonna read it until probably after the exams are over.

Oh and I suddenly have this overwhelming urge to take a trip over to London. Well I have to admit, it was only after reading Kenny Sia's blog and seeing all the nice photos from over there that I wanted to visit that part of the world.

This is what goes on in my house on Sunday night at 9.40pm.

Mom: Aik! Haven't filled car with petrol yet!
John: Supper?
Mom: Petrol.

And they became one harmonious sound in the orchestra of petrol and supper. It sounded something like:

After one week...

...You would've think that I'm dead already.

Just to sum it up, in the past 8 days I have:

1. Met up again with Christina =)

2. Got my very belated birthday gifts

3. Learn how to do differentiation using the multiplication rule (hohoho profound!)

4. Done an Add Maths paper which I described as "Brain-frying madness"

5. Signed up for prom

6. Gotten swarmed by people who got excited at the idea of me going for prom

7. Played with photoshop

8. Stepped into The Gardens for the first time in my life

9. Went to Italiannies

Yup, it has been one heck of an interesting week. The highlight of the week, though, was most definitely youth service on Saturday when Marie Brown personally came over to speak to the youths. Needless to say, it was a very thought-provoking session and I left the place that day completely refreshed.

What was interesting though, was when she told us to jot down in our bibles/notebooks/whatever a statement promising that we will never give up at what we are doing right now. I was with my pen all ready to write it down just like everyone else when the thought hit me.

This sounds familiar.

And immediately this thing which I drew last year came into my head.

This would be familiar to maybe some of you who took the liberty to look into MY notebook without MY permission. But at that moment I was completely blown away. Things don't coincide just like this.

And I just knew that it was God - because I am not that smart to think of something like that by myself. When I drew - or rather wrote that out, I did not even start to comprehend the impact that simple statement - Never S.T.O.P. had on my life as I went about this year.

There had definitely been times this year when I was just worn out and fatigued from everything that was coming at once, but each time I look back upon this statement; this promise I made to myself and to God, I pulled myself back up and right on track again.

There is so much more truth to this statement than what I know - simply because I know I'm not that smart to think of something as simple yet as powerful as this.
